THE A.U. PROMISES TO ASSIST IN THE EMERGENCY HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE PLAN AND EVEN GO FURTHER TO SUPPORT A LONG TERM ANSWER TO THE CRISIS IN THE NORTH-WEST AND SOUTH-WEST OF CAMEROON.

The support promise was made when a 4-man A.U. delegation visited the NCPBM.

The African Union delegation was led by Prof. TEHINDRAZANARIVELO DJACOBA Alain, Madagascar’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative at the A.U.

 Meeting with them were the President of the NCPBM, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE, the Vice-President, OUMAROU DJIKA and the Secretary General, CHI ASAFOR Cornelius.

Talking to the press later, the delegation leader DJACOBA Alain said the creation of the NCPBM was a positive signal for peace in Cameroon.

He said the AU was ready to assist Cameroon in the Emergency humanitarian plan put in place by the government as part of the solution to the socio- political crisis in the North-West and South-West regions.

H.E DJACOBA Alain said all AU programmes were not in Cameroon; so they were in the country to look for Mechanisms setting up these programmes which will go a long way to help Cameroon get long term solutions to the Crisis.

It should be noted that while in the Country, the AU envoy also met with the Prime Minister, Philemon YANG.
