THE GERMAN PARLIAMENT INTENDS TO WORK WITH CAMEROON TO BRING PEACE AND STABILITY TO THE COUNTRY

A 10- man Delegation from the German Parliament, the Bundestag, made the promise during an audience granted them by the President of the NCPBM, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE.

It was another busy day at the NCPBM on Wednesday, 05th December, 2018, when the German Parliamentary Delegation came visiting. The Delegation was headed by OTTMAR von Holtz, and accompanied by the German Ambassador to Cameroon, H. E Dr. Hans-Dieter STELL.

The visitors called around to assess potential sources of conflict in Cameroon, inquire about the role of the Commission with regards to mediation, and to find out the solutions underway to quell the crisis in the North-West and South-West Regions of Cameroon. They also came to discuss possible ways of cooperation with the NCPBM.

After More than an hour of discussion with the President of the NCPBM, who was accompanied by the Vice-President and the Secretary General of the Commission, the German Parliamentary Delegation head, OTTMAR von Holtz, told reporters that they came to enquire the situation of peace and stability in Cameroon. He said the NCPBM is a structure put in place to bring peace in the Country, adding that that is why they are interested in the Commission. In this light, they intend to support Cameroon, through economic cooperation and Development. He added that they intend to promote youth programmes and the role of women in the economic development of Cameroon.
