French Ambassador to Cameroon, GILLES THIBAULT visits the NCPBM
As disclosed to the press after the more than one and a half hours audience, the French Ambassador, Gilles THIBAULT said he was briefed on the missions of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism and what it has done so far. In this Light,he mentioned the Commission’s visit to the 37 ministries and some state Institutions to ensure the proper implementation of Bilingualism as provided for by the constitution.
He also spoke of the Commission’s visit to the regions of the north-West and South-West to listen to the people and report to the President of the Republic, and the NCPBM’s benchmarking mission to Switzerland.
On the position of France concerning the crisis in the two Anglophone regions, the French diplomat said his country’s wish, just like that of other Cameroonians, was that Cameroon be in peace and harmony, and continue to exercise its legendry hospitality and generosity.
His Excellency, Gilles THIBAULT also expressed the wish to see the Commission visit France, where, he said there exists a good system of mediation which Cameroon can copy.
Accompanying the French Ambassador to the audience was the Political Adviser, Elena PONOMAREVA, while the NCPBM President, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE was assisted by the Vice-President, OUMAROU DJIKA and the Secretary General, Dr. CHI ASAFOR Cornelius.
